BHAG Complete and Why Hills Suck….

Well, I did it. I completed the 7 Bridges Walk yesterday.  27.93 kilometres, 2111 calories and all done in 4 hours and 19 minutes.  I must say I’m rather chuffed with myself.  For the most part, the walk was not too hard until 20 kms in they pulled out the hills.  I mean, after all that distance travelled over mostly flat terrain, to keep the hills until after the 20km mark was just rude!  I kept myself going with the trusty MP3 player, at first playing Mish’s podcasts interspersed with music that gets my exercise mojo happening (until the battery went dead) and then my fave tunes on a second MP3 player.

What really impressed me is that there were no moments of doubt, none of the “is this a good idea” or “maybe I can just do some and catch the bus back” stuff that I’m famous for. No, it was JFDI all the way.  My mindset really has changed and it feels like a weight has been lifted.  No more procrastinating or self negotiation, I’m in there boots and all.  Anyway here are some pics from the walk, enjoy!
