Mid week update

Well I just thought I’d check in and update you on my week since my last post.  I must admit that I didn’t get my walk in yesterday (huge headache when I woke up that hung around most of the day) and I did go out with my cuz for a girlie dinner last night, but even without the exercise, I only went over my calorie limit by a mere 7 calories ( I blame the Earl Grey tea :)).

Today was extremely exciting.  I had planned to go to yoga and do a walk and so I decided to combine the two activities. I decided to walk to yoga and back, which gave me my beloved yoga class and between the walk there and back, I walked just over 14kms (and as a by-product, the admiration of all my fellow yogis). I burnt over 1000 calories between the two walks and another 175 calories in the yoga class itself.  But wait, there’s more!

The number on the scale today was 67.7, which means that so far this week, I have lost about 2% of my body weight.  Considering that up until today, I had lost 1.4% for the whole round, I am SOOO excited.  I have also been cataloguing my calories for every meal for the last 9 days and I have had this loss, so unfortunately, as much as I hate the idea of using a food diary, I will concede that the food diary works.  I have known at every turn this week how many calories I have consumed and how many I needed to burn, and I am seeing the results, so calorie documentation stays.

Tighten up Tuesday looms large for tomorrow, so I will be again flying without a net, no morning coffee. I am a bit concerned that the weather forecast for up until now gorgeous sunny Sydney is rain for the rest of the week (and I am listening to the thunder rumbling in the distance as I write, no rain yet!) but if necessary, waterproof jackets will be the fashion look so I can nail my exercise. BRING IT ON!
