Time to get committed…

This is preseason task no. 4, say it out loud.  It is all about stating your commitment to yourself and what you are prepared to do to get there for the next 12 weeks.  It was interesting creating my commitment this time around because I realised that so much of what I have to do finish this thing is now mental, not just physical.  I am eating well and exercising regularly, but as I mentioned in my previous post, there has been some old stuff that has held me back from doing things that will allow me to get to that finish line, stuff that has prevented me from being able to open the door to re-enter my old life fully.  Anyway, the task is to say it out loud, so below is my commitment:

“I am committed to keeping Tuesday as a vegetarian day. Tuesday will also be a “dry” day – no alcohol.

I am committed to continuing the exercise habits that I have adopted so far and continuing to train 5-6 days a week. I am committed to working through the Couch to 5k program and then on to the 5k to 10k program. I am committed to return to the pump and circuit classes that I used to attend before the weight gain, it’s time to take my place back in the gym without the fear that people in the class will judge me as a failure for allowing the weigh to accumulate.

Things have finally clicked into place in Round 1, so I want to carry this forward into Round 2. I am committed to losing this final 7.5 kg and the mental weight that goes with it. I am committed to losing the fear that has held me back all this time and finally completely rejoining my life, rejecting that embarrassment that grew with my weight gain, taking a deep breath and getting on with it.”

I am starting with my first Pump class in 3 years as of 4pm today.  Let the good times roll!
