Couch To 5k…..week 1 completed

So I just thought I’d give you a quick update on my progress so far on Couch To 5k. I have completed my first week and I am really happy with the results so far.  In just three workouts, I have increased my distance from 4.24km in the first session to 4.36 today, a gain of 120 metres.  I have knocked my time per km down from 7.04 per km in the first run to 6.54 per km today, which is 10 seconds.  I think this is good progress, but I have never done this before, so any of you that have experience in this program, I would really appreciate the input so that I can gauge my progress.  I am feeling that it is getting easier with each run and I am not feeling that need to talk myself into doing it, I am eager to see what I can accomplish in each workout.  Anyway, tomorrow starts week two which sees the running intervals increase to 1 minute 30 seconds and the rest to 2 minutes….watch this space 🙂




  1. I used this app and found it brilliant. Attempting to train for a half marathon now! When I did the C5K I realised not to focus to much on my pace and distance, but just to do it. You’ll have good runs and bad and that’s part of getting there. Once I was able to complete the 5K, it was then that I started focusing on trying to increase my pace.
    You’re already doing brilliantly for week 1, be proud of every run you do.
    You’re progress pics are also amazing…well done!
