Reflecting On Commitment For Round 4

So, as I have mentioned before, I have signed up for Round 4 of 12WBT. This means that I am currently completing my Pre-season Tasks and this morning I completed Task 4, Say It Out Loud.  This task required you to think about what your commitment is for this round and put it out there for family, friends, 12WBT members, Facebook and in this case, fellow bloggers to see.  I have copied it above for you to read. I must admit, as a veteran of this program now, whilst I have committed to the program each round, I had not really thought about the practicalities of this commitment for a while.  For the last few rounds, my commitment has been about what the number on the scale will be at the end of the round and not so much about what I need to do to make that happen.  This time, I realised that in order for change to happen, you need to plan the steps, take care of the small stuff in order to make the big picture come into focus.

What I mean by this is that it is all very well to say I want to get down to 60kgs by the end of 12 weeks, and it is a valid goal, but that will not make it happen. What will make it happen is making sure that I complete every workout , that I burn more than I eat and cut down on the wine during the week.  I have to take care of each of the small steps to make the end goal come into view.  Nobody climbs Everest by standing at the bottom of the mountain with a pack and a rope and looking to the summit. They plan, pack, train and then start walking.  So here I go, starting my next attack on the summit…….
