A Letter To Myself…

Our 12WBT Week One Challenge is to write a letter to our current selves, just thought I would share it with you, so here goes, my 100th post 🙂

3rd February 2014

Dear Sharon

So here you again, starting a new round, a new adventure.  I am so proud of your achievements over the past 18 months or so, but now it’s time to get your head down and power through to the end, to reach that finish line – you know that you can see it up ahead, no more excuses, it is time to finish this thing and move on.

Your world is not quite in the orbit you would like it to be in right now – work is uncertain and finances even less so, but you have been here before and you have always made it through.  Every cloud has a silver lining – all that work down time gives you more time to get your butt moving and exercise.  Don’t see this time as a reason to be down, seize the day and make another goal a reality.  The rest will fall into place, you have done and are doing what you need to change your situation, just wait and see. And while you wait for the teaching gigs to start, you can be “Shaz The Builder” – you are really learning to rock that nail gun! Just think of the calories you are burning with all that physical labour!

I am really proud of how have been approaching your nutrition and exercise lately.  You have been getting your shoes on and getting out the door 5 days a week, sometimes twice a day.  Now it is time to execute the next part of your plan – you are doing the yoga and the walking, get back into that Zumba class and start making use of that ocean pool, you know you want to – what is holding you back? I know that you haven’t been around for the Thursday Zumba class, but what about the Wednesday night class? And you walk at Bilgola most days, why not add some laps to the workout, you are already there and it costs you nothing!

You have been sticking pretty well to your calories lately and really making the effort to lay off the extra snacking and the alcohol during the week.  You have also been able to stick to that self-imposed 500 calorie deficit pretty well and you are reaping the results of your efforts.  That nasty stubborn scale has decided to stop being snippy and the numbers have started moving down again – thank heavens. That plateau was getting depressing – to be able to see the valley below, but not be able to find the path down to it.  But you stuck with it, checked out what might not be working and did something to fix it.  In the past, you would have given up the ghost and picked up the cheese.  Well done for staying the course!

So, here you go again.  Keep on moving forward, you know what you need to do to succeed, now is the time to dig in and get it done.  Leave that bag of excuses in the dust and travel light, it’s time. You are not alone on this journey. I can’t wait to meet the person who arrives at the destination.

Sharon
