Let me introduce myself……

Hi there. My name is Sharon and I am a 43 year old teacher from Sydney. I used to be fit and trim, I was described by many as a “gym junkie”.  Then, I decided to do my Masters degree and the downhill slide began.  Between working full time and then studying on the weekend and my gym classes in between, not to mention the take away which started too sneak into my diet because at the end of yet another full on day I was to tired to do anything else, I ended up sick by the end of Semester One.  Something had to give and it unfortunately started with the early morning yoga classes, then moved onto the Pump class with the instructor I hated then the circuit class run by the same instructor, and the slippery slope got slipperier (is that even a word? It must be, I’m a teacher!)  Three years later, I was 20 kilos heavier and down to one regular yoga class a week and the occasional walk.  I would sometimes get in and swim some laps or shake my booty at Zumba, but it was sporadic at best. And the weight would not shift, no matter what crazy diet bandwagon I jumped on and believe me there were lots (I’m talking about you Lemon Detox and Bodytrim!) But the worst thing was what it did to my head, I was down on myself, I felt helpless and I started to give up all those things that I loved to do ( who wants to expose themselves on the beach in a bikini when you’re 20 kilos overweight?). It had started to become a vicious cycle of failure and despair.  Again, something had to give!

On the 4th of June 2012, I started a journey to get back my body, health, fitness and my life from wherever it was I left it sometime over past couple of years.  Let the adventure begin!
